📣Big news❗️The government recently announced two major steps towards a more sustainable world.
Starting April 1 next year, the municipal solid waste charging scheme will be implemented. ♻️🗑️
In addition, the groundbreaking Product Eco-responsibility (Amendment) Bill 2023 was passed by
Legco. From April 22 next year, the sale and use of disposable plastic tableware will be
completely banned, including expanded polystyrene tableware, plastic straws, stirrers, cutlery,
and plates. But that’s not all! The restaurants will also be prohibited from providing plastic
cups, food containers, and covers to dine-in customers. The ban is set to extend to takeaways by
